We're committed to building an economy that benefits every resident and neighborhood. 

This means:

• Budgeting with Equity: We'll push for transparent oversight of city finances to ensure dollars are reinvested directly into underserved communities, supporting seniors on fixed incomes and areas with service gaps.

• Empowering Local Businesses: We'll expand and enforce supplier diversity goals, ensuring minority-, woman-, LGBTQ+-, veteran-, disabled-, and senior-owned businesses secure more city contracts.

• Strengthening Our Workforce: We'll scale successful workforce development programs like JC CAP and the Cannabis Workforce Registry, preparing residents for the jobs of tomorrow.

Public safety extends beyond policing; it encompasses mental health access, opportunity, and stability for everyone. 

Our plan includes:

• Prioritizing Mental Health: As a member of the Hudson County Mental Health Board, I will champion culturally competent, trauma-informed mental health services for all residents, especially our seniors, veterans, and youth.

• Supporting Seniors & Housing Stability: We'll advocate for senior-friendly housing, healthcare access, home repair assistance, and increased programming for our aging population.

• Championing First Responders: We'll work closely with our first responders to enhance city support, mental health services, and training, ensuring they have the tools to keep themselves and our communities safe.

• Investing in Our Youth: We'll expand city support for vital mentorship and youth development programs like B.U.I.L.D., providing structure, guidance, and hope for young men.

I've served in City Hall with a clear purpose: to change lives. 

My commitment to real representation means:

• Creating a More Responsive Government: We'll establish citywide Equity & Inclusion Town Halls, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for city workers, and transparent dashboards, giving residents a clear voice and view into city decision-making.

• Amplifying Community Voices: We will actively collaborate with community boards, grassroots leaders, churches, tenant groups, senior advocates, and small business owners to craft inclusive, community-led policies.

• Advocating for Educational Equity: As a professor and lifelong educator, I will prioritize educational justice from pre-K through post-secondary, supporting initiatives that connect learning directly to opportunity for all ages.
